Whether you’re looking for adventure or quiet moments surrounded by nature, the lake and surrounding area offer plenty of ways to spend your days outside.

Pinantan Lake is well known for its excellent rainbow trout fishing and peaceful electric-motor-only waters.
Pinantan Lake is well known for its excellent rainbow trout fishing. The lake contains both wild rainbow trout and stocked blackwater trout that provide great fishing throughout the season.
The lake is restricted to electric motor boats only, creating calm and quiet conditions that make it ideal for fly fishing, trolling, or casting from a small boat.
Fishing is also permitted directly from the resort dock, where guests regularly catch fish just steps from their cabins.
Don’t have a boat? Guests can rent one from the resort to spend the day fishing on the lake.

Average trout size is around 1 lb, though larger fish are occasionally caught.
Guests should bring their own fishing gear and bait.
A British Columbia fishing license is required before fishing.

Because Pinantan Lake allows electric motors only, the water remains calm and peaceful throughout the day, making it ideal for paddling and swimming.
Guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or inflatables, or take advantage of the resort’s complimentary equipment during their stay.
A quiet paddle around the lake is one of the best ways to experience the scenery and wildlife that make Pinantan Lake so special.
Lawn Games & Outdoor Space
The resort has plenty of open green space where guests can relax and enjoy classic outdoor games throughout the day. Bring your own favourites or borrow some of ours to play bocce, croquet, volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, and more. It’s a fun and easy way for families and groups to spend time together between lake activities.
Wildlife & Nature
The Pinantan area is rich in wildlife and bird species, making it a great destination for nature lovers and bird watchers. Guests often see birds, deer, and other wildlife around the lake, and anglers sometimes spot eagles swooping down to catch fish nearby. You don’t have to leave the resort to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape, but there are also many nearby places for hiking and walking if you’d like to explore further.
Biking, Hiking & Exploring
There are many trails in the surrounding area for biking, hiking, and exploring the forests around Pinantan Lake.
Just a 12-minute drive from the resort, Harper Mountain offers excellent mountain biking trails during the summer months.
The surrounding region also includes forestry roads and backcountry trails that are popular for ATV riding and exploring.
Explore the Kamloops Area
Pinantan Lake Resort is located just 20 minutes from Kamloops, making it easy to explore additional activities, restaurants, and attractions during your stay. Many guests enjoy spending a day visiting local breweries, restaurants, and shops in Kamloops before returning to the quiet of the lake in the evening.
The Kamloops area also offers several golf courses, local farmers markets, and scenic drives through the Thompson region. For those looking for even more outdoor adventure, Sun Peaks Resort is about 45 minutes away and offers hiking, mountain biking, and sightseeing during the summer months.
